Houston Dynamo at Colorado Rapids staff picks

The Houston Dynamo will try and snap their two-match losing skid tonight in Colorado. We asked our staff for their predictions on the match against Rapids.

Cristian - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record: 3-1)

The Rapids remain unbeaten at home, and the Dynamo have yet to show enough consistency to suggest they can travel to Colorado and come away with all three points.

Rudy - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record: 2-3)

This is a tough one to call. Both teams come in with plenty of uncertainty. Colorado is without two starters due to red cards, while Houston is stretched thin at center back and could be without Jack McGlynn. Add in the altitude and a roster still adjusting to MLS, and it’s a real test for the Dynamo. I’ll give the edge to the home side, but I’d love to be proven wrong.

Joey - 4-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 1-1)

The Rapids defense is in a rough spot, missing multiple starters out wide. The Dynamo will look to create overloads in those wide areas with Lawrence Ennali and Guilherme to try and overwhelm the backups. Expect lots of attacking action from both Mateusz Bogusz and Guilherme.

Dustyn - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record: 1-4)

The Dynamo offense missed Jack McGlynn last week. If he is unable to play again tonight, it will be tough sledding in the attack. Houston’s defense has yet to post a clean sheet this season.

Manny - 1-1 draw
(Record 2-3)

There’s a real sense of uncertainty surrounding this match. With key players missing on both sides, it’s unclear how either team will approach the game, making it difficult to give an advantage to one over the other. It has the feel of a draw, either a high-scoring one or a tight 1-1 result.

Juan - 0-0 draw
(Record 4-1)

Houston’s chance creation as of late hasn’t inspired much confidence. Colorado, as a team, doesn’t do that either. I expect one of those rugged away days for Houston, but an away result is an away result. Just don’t get any red cards along the way.

Dynastats - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record 4-1)

The Dynamo will come back from a goal down at the half once again to win another game at DSG park at the death. Ezequiel Ponce will score his first of the season to win the game.
