Houston Dynamo at FC Dallas player ratings

The Houston Dynamo had this one in their hands. A strong first half saw them complete the comeback and take the lead, but a second-half red card flipped the match and changed everything. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.

Starters

Jonathan Bond - 5.5

Bond didn’t have his best night. While he made a couple of routine stops, he never fully looked in control as Dallas kept applying pressure. When the match opened up late, Houston needed a bigger presence in goal.

Duane Holmes - 6.5

Holmes put in a steady, workmanlike performance. He helped close down space defensively, stayed involved in the build-up, and kept possession moving without overcomplicating things. A reliable shift that helped maintain balance in the middle of the park.

Erik Sviatchenko - 6

A rollercoaster night for the captain. He got on the scoresheet with a strong header, but the second yellow card flipped the match. Playing down a man for the final stretch proved too much, especially with Dallas finding the winner late.

Felipe Andrade - 4.5

Andrade never looked comfortable. He wasn’t able to get forward much, and defensively he had a difficult time dealing with Dallas’ movement.

Antonio Carlos - 5

Antonio Carlos struggled to settle into the match. Dallas found ways to get at him, and he could have done more on the opening goal. Overall, a tough night defensively.

Lawrence Ennali - 7.5

Ennali continues to grow into his new role. He’s clearly more disciplined defensively but still knows when to attack. His run and finish for Houston’s third goal was a huge moment and capped off a strong first half.

Hector Herrera - 7

Herrera brought control and composure in midfield, especially during Houston’s strong first half. His presence helped the Dynamo dictate tempo and build momentum before things unraveled late.

Jack McGlynn - 7

Another steady performance from McGlynn. He stayed involved, kept the ball moving, and helped Houston build through midfield. Even when things got chaotic, he remained one of the more composed players.

Mateusz Bogusz - 6

It just wasn’t his night. Bogusz felt disconnected from the attack and never really got into dangerous positions. One shot, little impact. Houston needed more from him.

Guilherme - 9

Guilherme was the difference-maker. He punished a goalkeeper mistake for the opening goal, delivered a perfect corner for Sviatchenko’s goal, and then slipped a beautiful ball through to Ennali for the third. Everything dangerous went through him.

Ezequiel Ponce - 5.5

Ponce had a quiet match overall, but his pressing created the mistake that led to Houston’s first goal. Outside of that, he struggled to get involved and never really found a rhythm.

Substitutes

Aliyu Ibrahim - 6

Aliyu brought energy off the bench and tried to stretch the game late. With Houston down a man, his role became more about effort and transition, and he handled it well.

Ondrej Lingr - 6

Lingr added legs in the midfield and helped Houston push when they could, but the red card shifted his role more defensive than attacking.

Agustin Resch - 6

Resch stepped in and did his job in a tough situation. With Houston under pressure late, he focused on staying compact and helping the team see out defensive sequences as best as possible.

Agustin Bouzat - N/A

Limited minutes in a chaotic end to the match made it tough for Bozáat to leave any real mark.

Head Coach

Ben Olsen - 6

Olsen will feel this one slipped away. Houston looked sharp and in control during the first half, building a full comeback and taking the lead into halftime. But the second half told a different story. The red card changed everything, and from there it became survival mode. Still, there’s frustration knowing the match was there to be managed better before things unraveled.
