HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN
On the match:
"Looking at this trip as a whole, I believe it was pretty successful. Taking three points home from the Pacific Northwest is a positive. Tonight's match was tough. The Portland Timbers had a lot of energy. They are a good, dynamic team. We were not at our best in a bunch of different areas. We looked a little heavy. We put a lot into the Seattle match, and we went with a similar group. However, maybe the match tonight meant a little bit more to Portland. But overall, I am thrilled with this group and what they did over the last two games. It will be nice to get to return to Houston and start preparing for the St. Louis match, a big game that will matter in the standings."
On heading into the next match:
"Saturday's match versus St. Louis is the last match of the season, and we are going to go after it. We are going to prepare and give everything we have. Tonight we had a similar mentality. We went into the Portland match prepared. The group was in a good headspace, but the result did not go our way. We were a little bit off tonight, but we will continue to push."
HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER AGUSTIN BOUZAT (TRANSLATED FROM SPANISH)
On his goal and the team’s performance:
"I feel happy about scoring tonight. It came as a result of a high press, something we have been working on, and it is important that we are able to score in that fashion. We played a good match, though we did feel the effects of the effort we put in against Seattle. Overall, the trip leaves us with a positive feeling and high expectations for what is to come."
On finishing the regular season:
"Having home field advantage in the playoffs will be important for us. It is crucial to finish strong at home before heading into the playoffs because we are wrapping up a good season. There are still some areas where we can improve, but we will see the team’s full potential in the upcoming matches, and that is a good sign for us."
On his message to the fans:
"Keep supporting us and continue to trust the team. On the pitch, we strive to represent the fans in the best way possible. We are going to give everything we have in our final regular season match, and we will approach the playoffs in the way this team deserves."
