Houston Dynamo at San Diego FC staff picks

The Houston Dynamo have a late night midweek match on the west coast, looking to pick up three points on the road. We asked our staff for their predictions on the match against San Diego FC.

Cristian - 1-1 draw
(Record: 12-8)

The Dynamo will have to answer the question of depth, while facing a struggling San Diego side. This should be an interesting match but I doubt any of the teams take advantage of the other’s “issues”.

Rudy - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record: 6-15)

Houston Dynamo are coming off a tough match against Minnesota, where they rescued a point late in the game. I know the saying is to take it one game at a time, but with a big Texas Derby against FC Dallas coming up this weekend, I expect some rotation in the starting lineup. Could we see Matthew Arana get his first start for Houston? It’s certainly a possibility. Still, I think San Diego will edge out the Dynamo tonight in a close one.

Joey - 1-0 Dynamo win
(Record: 8-7)

San Diego are in some rough form as they’re winless in their last 6 games including a 5-0 loss to Philly and a 4-1 loss to a struggling Red Bulls side just this past weekend. The Dynamo should be able to take some momentum from their last minute equalizer against Minnesota.

Dustyn - 1-1 draw
(Record: 7-14)

A busy road stretch continues with a trip to San Diego. This is a game the Dynamo should probably win but it’s always tough to beat a team twice and San Diego is a desperate team. Houston could rotate some in this match as well with a big Texas Derby on Saturday.

Manny - 1-0 Dynamo win
(Record 7-12)

After a rough draw at Minnesota, the Dynamo will try to secure a playoff berth with a win against a San Diego side that seems lost. Despite a long trip to San Diego, the Dynamo seem comfortable with getting wins on the west coast. I expect the Dynamo to close this match out and get three points.

Juan - 2-0 Dynamo win
(Record 10-9)

Houston’s offense proved me wrong last week. I also believe the defense will rebound from a tough outing, and with the added pressure of getting a result, I think the Dynamo will get it done.

Dynastats - 1-1 draw
(Record 9-12)

The Dynamo haven’t won an away game since August, and travel to Snapdragon Stadium to face a San Diego team with plenty of attacking talent. While San Diego have been in poor form as of late, I still see them holding the Dynamo to another draw.
